The “Brickman Bunch” to participate in Walk MS: Northwest Oklahoma
Since 1992 Lynn Brickman has joined forces with the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society in their fight to end the disease. Her own diagnosis has inspired her family, along with many Okeene natives to get involved.
Lynn and her husband Bret, first noticed her symptoms in the early 90s. Lynn said she began noticing symptoms while helping her family during harvest. “I began having symptoms during harvest while driving the grain truck,” she said, “My feet just went numb.”
MS can be exacerbated by excessive stress and fatigue. Lynn said she believes her personal struggles may have worsened her symptoms. “Bret and I had four small sons and our family was battling cancer with my mother in law,” she said. She was diagnosed on August 16, 1991—her 30th birthday.
