Schmidt’s late-three to tie comes up just short as Shock fall in OKC
Last weekend, Maddie Schmidt, Katelyn Penner and Kaylyn Aldrich competed in OKC Live’s 15U basketball tournament with their travel team, the Oklahoma Shock. Unfortunately, the Shock had a rough two days.
They team all three of their contests on Saturday, before seeing a comeback attempt come up just short in their only game on Sunday. The Shock opened the two-day event with a 44-37 loss on Saturday morning to Team Oklahoma.
The girls fell behind by seven early on, and while they cut into that deficit on numerous occasions, Team Oklahoma continued to build their lead right back. From there, the Shock fell 54-44 against Woodz Elite TTG 2024, as well as dropping their final game of the day to the Oklahoma Swarm, 42-41.
That paired them with Oklahoma Lady Bearcats on Sunday evening. While the Shock grabbed a quick lead in the contest, the Bearcats came racing back to take an advantage of their own.
