Should Mayfield be named top offensive rookie?

Now that the NFL’s regular season has wrapped up, honors will start being awarded to those who put forth exceptional performances during the 2018 season. In the case of former Sooner and Heismanwinner, Baker Mayfield, there is bound to be plenty of debate about whether he should take home the hardware for the top offensive rookie this year.

Quite frankly, this award should turn out to be a twohorse race between Mayfield and the man picked right after him in the 2018 NFL Draft, Saquon Barkley. I could easily make a case that Indianapolis’ rookie guard Quenton Nelson who was recently voted to the AP 2018 NFL All-Pro first team selected by a national panel of 50 members, but linemen often get overlooked for these awards.
