Spring Brings Summer Activities

Anisa’s Country Adventures

Spring has officially arrived, and with it summertime activities are on the rise. Local parks, swimming pools and more are receiving facelifts and overhauls to get them ready for people of all ages to enjoy. Additionally, the nicer weather is bringing people out in droves as they find ways to get out, get active and breathe in the fresh air. The most common activities are taking nature walks, working in the yard or garden and playing sports, but these are not the only ways we can all celebrate the departure of winter.

Some families are deciding to change things up and shake up their normal routine. Going to the park is something they do regularly this time of year, but rather than the usual idea of watching the children play, parents have turned the outing into a scavenger hunt. This new trend can be taken one step further and be used for entire neighborhoods to come together or even a trip to the zoo. For these, participants can seek out things unique to those places. These scavenger hunts are fun yet educational, providing opportunities for children to hone their thinking skills while they play. For parents who want to take this activity further still, the scavenger hunts can be themed to fit the child’s individual taste, such as incorporating pirates, dinosaurs and more into the hunt.
