When life keeps you busy

My dad fell asleep at the restaurant table during our Father’s Day lunch. There wasn’t much conversation, and I think everyone was wanting to go home.

The night before, I picked up my dad in Elk City from a travel bus. He had spent the week riding his bicycle on Route 66 across Oklahoma. He started the week in Texola, Okla. and finished Saturday morning in Joplin, Missouri.

Normally, Mom and Jace would’ve picked him up, but they had just spent the week at Falls Creek (church camp) and immediately went straight to a camp that teaches you to show lambs.
