Who says there’s nothing to do in small towns?

Anisa’s Country Adventures

Small towns can have just as much fun as big cities, and residents of local communities are gearing up for more fun. Being from a bigger city, it’s hard to imagine that small towns can have so much fun.

Okeene’s Rattlesnake Hunt recently celebrated another year, and Germanfest at The Corner ate, drank and danced its’ way to fun festivities for another year as well.

Canton and Hennessey are gearing up for family fun of their own.

Established in 1968, Canton’s 51st Annual Walleye Rodeo has grown through the years. What was once merely a fishing competition has grown into an allout festival. Attendees will be treated with fun runs, a parade, an art show, a carnival and much more. Local students from Canton will be participating as the Canton Lady Tigers take part in a hamburger fry and the Canton Cheerleaders participate in selling homemade ice cream. Visitors can also join Canton’s Senior Citizens for a brisket dinner during the event. The Rodeo will run from Thur., May 16 to Sun., May 19.
