2nd Annual Okeene Germanfest a big success

The 2nd Annual Okeene Germanfest was held last weekend at The Corner in Okeene. This event is sponsored by the Okeene Historic Preservation Group, (OHPG).

Hundreds gathered on the beautiful Saturday, the 6th of May, to enjoy German food, wine and some great German beers. Weinerschnitzel, Bierox, Bratwurst, Kraut and German Potato Salad were served. The Okeene Germanfest was the first event in America to serve Ayinger Bavarian Pilsner!! Arriving by ship to the US, just earlier in the week, this classic Bavarian-style pils was a refreshing crisp, all-malt lager brought to Der Ecke Biergarten, to delight the palates of the attendees. Ayinger Brauweisse, Hofbrauhaus Original and Bud Light were on tap as well as a variety of wines from Vernost, of Hennessey, available by the glass or bottle.
