Local businesses help Okeene family in need
Local businesses are working together to help two-month-old Gemma Lee Price and her family as she battles several health problems including clubfoot, short femurs and three different heart conditions.
Gemma, born June 17, spent nearly 30 days in the NICU. She has a form of dwarfism, horseshoe kidney, tongue-tie and occasional high blood pressure. Her parents, Shelbi Rasor and Shaddrick Price said she still has a long journey ahead as she undergoes casting procedures to help correct her feet and other rehabs and appointments.
Businesses like 5M Auto Repair, JBBW, Luckie Drug, Okeene Supply Store and DND Buildings have donated a $500 gift card for a benefit raffle to help the Price family with medical bills and other personal expenses.
Shelbi said she is grateful for the community’s support as she did not expect her family to receive as much help as they have. She said between traveling to different hospitals and undergoing different medical procedures, there has been a big financial strain on the family.
