Former Lady Whippets’ son heading to OU to play baseball

This coming fall, colleges all over the country will be getting a new group of freshmen in to join their athletic programs. For the University of Oklahoma, they’ll be adding a southpaw from Carl Albert to add to their pitching staff.

Incoming freshman Carson Thomas is the son of former-Okeene graduate Sandra Thomas, formerly Sandra Lubbers of the class of ‘93. As a Lady Whippet, was an All-State slow-pitch softball player, as well as participating in basketball, track and cheerleading.

Carson started playing sports at four when his father, Del City graduate Steve Thomas, started a tee ball team for Carson and his friends. He played for his father until junior high where he started playing for Carl Albert coach, Tim LaValley.
