Fresh off quarantine, Junior High Whippets fall to Bison
After being quarantined at home since September 24, the Okeene Junior High football team returned to both the classroom and the gridiron last Tuesday. The Whippets welcomed the Geary Bison to town, but unfortunately lost by a score of 30-8.
It was a tale of two halves for Okeene as the Whippets struggled on both side of the football in the first two quarters, before looking much more competitive down the stretch. The Bison featured a pair of running backs that the Whippets’ defense had no answers for in the first half.
One was bigger than anyone else on the field, while the other ripped off big chunks of yards with his speed. Still, Okeene managed to do a better job of keeping them in check in the second half as Geary only scored once after halftime.
