Hussey misses showdown against new teammates as OK Shock defeat HP Storm in Enid
Enid played host to the Mid America Youth Basketball Tournament last weekend, as teams from elementary to high school traveled to compete in the mid-July event. For Okeene, Katelyn Penner, Kaylyn Aldrich and Maddie Schmidt’s summer team, the Oklahoma Shock were able to win four of five games in the event, while new Lady Whippet, Keely Hussey and the High Plains Storm took three of their five contests.
The two teams actually met during group play to help determine their seeding for the Sunday tournament. After the Shock had pulled off a 38-25 win over Balko to open the event at the Stride Bank Center, they defeated Oklahoma MTB at Oklahoma Bible Academy to enter the contest at 2-0 in the group.
