Junior high girls finish third in Sharon Tourney
The Okeene Junior High basketball teams travelled to Sharon-Mutual last week for their second and final tournament of the season. While the boys only won one of their three games in the event, the girls took two of three to capture third place.
After winning their opener against Arnett on Monday, and dropping their Thursday night matchup with Hammon, the Lady Whippets found themselves paired up with the Mooreland Lady Cats in the third-place game Saturday afternoon.
Okeene got off to a strong start thanks to a pair of firstquarter threes from Katelyn Penner. Penner would hit three from beyond the arc on the night, and led the Lady Whippets with 11 points in the contest.
