Late rally cut short as Okeene Blue defeats Okeene White
Last Monday, two of Okeene’s coach pitch teams faced off as the white team took on the blue squad at the Whippets home field. On this night, it would be the blue team that would emerge victorious by a score of 5-3, in game where the tying run reached second base with two out in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The blue team opened the game on fire, as Jaxson Karbs, Reese Munden, Julio Acevedo and Elijah Moore strung together four-straight hits to produce a pair of runs in the first frame. However, the white squad countered with a run of their own when Jack Luckie led off the bottom of the inning with a hit, and was driven in by Hayden Noll.
With a 2-1 score heading into the second, the blue squad busted the game open with three more runs. Max Karbs led the inning off with hit, before being driven in by Kiian Lorenz. Lorenz would later score on Palin Schmidt’s RBI-hit, and Schmidt would score the third run of the inning when Brett Woolley drove him home with a hit.
Despite a pair of hits by Kadence Lewis and Kalystah York, the white team could plate a run in the bottom of the second, and remained down by four heading into the third. Elijah Moore and Max Karbs each reached base for the second time of the evening in the top of the third, while Sam Moore also collected a hit but the blue team couldn’t add to their advantage.
