Okeene Pee Wee team remains undefeated, Junior High falls to Mooreland
The Okeene Pee Wee and Junior High football teams traveled to Mooreland last Monday for a pair of games with the Bearcats. In those contests, the fifth and sixthgrade Whippets were able to stay unbeaten with a 22-6 victory, while the junior high team fell by a score of 46-22.
In the pee wee game, the Whippets were aided by three big plays on offense that all went for scores. Blayne Jinkens scored the opening touchdown of the game on a 73-yard run in the first quarter.
Later in the first half, Andrew Schroeder broke a run 93 yards for a touchdown as he gained 104 yards total for the night. Harley Karbs also caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Peyton Ebers.
Ebers completed two of his three passes in the contest, with Brayson Roberts also catching a seven-yard pass. William Wooley also ran the ball twice for seven yards and Case Ebers ran twice for three yards.
On defense, the Whippets gave up their only points of the contest with less than a minute left in the contest. Okeene was extremely active on defense, starting with defensive tackle Tugg Schmidt.
