Okeene track teams do well at Regional Track Meet

The Okeene track team headed to Cherokee High School for the Regional Meet this past Friday, with members of both the teams advancing to the State Meet this weekend. In the process, the girls scored 23 points and finished tenth, while the boys accumulated 70 points and finished third.

Jordan Buhr had a big day, winning the long jump with a distance of 21 feet. That is his top jump of the year, and an inch shy of the best jump in the class this season.

Buhr also finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.48 seconds. That time is over two seconds slower than his best effort of the year, but it was still good enough to qualify him for state.
