Shock and Aftershock both eliminated from MAYB tourney after buzzer-beater attempts come up short.
Last weekend, a handful of Okeene’s female basketball players were at it again as they traveled to Enid for the Mid America Youth Basketball Tournament. It’s been a busy summer for the Lady Whippets that participate on the Oklahoma Shock and the Oklahoma Aftershock rosters, and Saturday and Sunday were another testament to their commitment to basketball.
Both Ava McCollum and Julia Penner played for the Aftershock, a sixth/seventh grade team coached by Okeene’s own Patrick Penner. After dropping their first two matchups in pool play to Team Price and the Stampede, the Aftershock defeated the Oklahoma Hoops by a score of 23-16.
