Six Whippets named to K101 Classic Bowl
The Okeene Whippets had six athletes named to the K101 Classic Bowl that will take place at the end of this month. Every year, Northwest Oklahoma’s top senior basketball and football players travel to Woodward to put on their school colors one last time and represent their school in an All-Star Game.
This year, Okeene will see Meghan Mitch, Madison Howe, Rachel Wilson, Alek Winter, Noah Cagle and Sam Osterhout make that trip to represent the Whippets. Mitch will be making the trip as a cheerleader, and will cheer in all three events.
Howe and Wilson will both play in the girls’ basketball game, after helping the Lady Whippets to a 11-15 record and a trip to the Regional Round of the playoffs. Howe played four seasons of high school basketball at Okeene and as a senior, she averaged 7.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
