WHIPPETS ADVANCE TO REGIONAL TOURNAMENT

BOYS UPSET CANUTE FOR DISTRICT TITLE

The Okeene Whippets started the week off with some concerning news that they would be playing without leading scorer Noah Cagle this week. Still, the Whippets had their sights set on having a big week, and that would start with a Tuesday-night matchup against the Drummond Bulldogs.

Jordan Buhr would slide into Cagle’s starting role, and he would get off to a quick start with five points in the first quarter. The Whippets followed suit, and the first quarter ended with them up 15-4.

The Bulldogs rallied in the second to cut the lead down to single-digits, but the Whippets came out of the locker room inspired and drove it right back up. With a 38-25 heading into the final frame, Colby Cagle put the game to rest going 4-4 from the free throw line, and scoring four of his gamehigh 17 points.
