Whippets putting in the sweat this summer
The Okeene Whippets football program wrapped up the first half of their summer strength and conditioning program during the final week of June. From there, the Whippets enjoyed the week off, courtesy of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association’s mandatory “dead weak”, where athletes are not permitted to participate in any school functions.
Now, Okeene will return to the sprints and the iron in order to prepare themselves for the upcoming football season. The Whippets were limited to only a few unpadded spring practices, and weren’t able to participate in a team camp, making these workouts essential to not only their preparation, but also the bonding process.
