The Okeene Whippets had a lot to celebrate last Friday after defeating Sharon-Mutual 20-14. Not only was it the Whippets’ Homecoming Game, but Okeene also pulled off their first victory of the season, as well as the first for Reece Brickman as head coach.

While Okeene was scheduled to play three games last week, a cancellation from Geary on Monday shortened their workload by a game in the final, full week of the season. Still, the Lady Whippets were unable to pull off a victory in their remaining two contests as they fell to Thomas, 9-1, and Merritt, 15-12.

The Okeene Junior High softball team had one game last week when they traveled to Waynoka on Tuesday to face the Lady Railroaders. Unfortunately, the Lady Whippets fell by a score of 11-10 in a contest where neither team could keep the other off the scoreboard.
